CRYSTAL
Everything i s
going great with Crystal. She is a great little companion and
I think we are friends. Two little girls across the street
came over for potty time when I am out and she seems to enjoy
them etc. She was a little anxious the first week every time
someone came to the door or in because I think she thought she
was going to move again. But now she has calmed down and is
quite the little greeter.
I'm so glad I have her and I think she will be with me for a
while because she appears very healthy. We will do a vet check
next month. Thank you and best of luck with all your other
little friends that need a home.
Iris and
Crystal
Crystal is a senior who was surrendered due to her
senior owner no longer being able to care for her.

ROSIE
Here's the first
photo
that I've been able to take
of Rosie's face! She's going to the groomer on Friday, so
I'll be able to get a better one of her face without all the
wild hair! Notice her under bite and the little tooth that
sticks out! She's such a doll......Thank you for sending her
to us.
Rosie is a senior who was surrendered to a Vet's office because the owners no
longer wanted her. A good Samaritan brought her home and contacted Yorkies Inc.
She's now living in the lap of luxury! Paula is always there to take in a needy
senior...we LOVE Paula and so do her special pups!

ALEE & RAYNI
now LAYNI
10/28/06:
thought i'd give you a quick
update! they slept like little logs together in the crate-I'll
bring a big crate home today. They were up at 6:30am (i
started listening for them at 5:30) and alee piddled on peepee
pad, rayni went outside. they ate and alee pooped near pad and
rayni went ou tside. you did a great job of that-they're doing
great but we're not making an issue of mistakes but praising
them to the max for the positives!! they love that- don't
worry about alee-she's coming around. we walked them on
harnesses and they did incredibly- did you guys leash train
them or were they leashed trained at breeders? it was soooo
easy. Jim's mowing lawn so it's nice and low for them and
then I'll go open store long enough to put up a sign that
says I'm closed because of weather and that i need to go play
with puppies! I'll open tomorrow weather permitting which
means I'll be home all day-yippee. they didn't eat very much-
about half is that normal or should I worry. remember-I'm
Irish worrying and guilt come naturally. do you think they
need peepee pads at night- I don't want to pre-dispose them to
kidney infections. (see what I mean) thanks again! we feel
sooo lucky. (Murphy does not- but in a week he'll wonder how
he lived without them). Wendy
Scott & Jim Smith (pictured here l-r Jim w/Murphy and
Alee, Wendy w/Acadia and Rayni)
Update 10/29/06:
we lost electricity at 4 yesterday so
it's been an eventful evening with a generator. Whoever bet on
Saturday night as the night alee would climb into my lap was
the winner-(I think it was you!) but actually I was the real
winner. she and rayni know they're home! it's a look they have
and we thank you (and your whole family) for taking such good
care of them . w e think you should foster every yorkie in the
world!! they slept like logs again and we got right up with
the first "meow" at 6:30 am, they piddled on mats (the wind is
a little unnerving) and they ate (more today), played and
alee and rayni have been asleep in my arms since they crashed.
we just hooked up the laptop to the satellite so we could
check email while they play. I suspect it'll be one more day
until Murphy joins them, he thought about it today. Acadia is
fine with the whole thing as long as I hand feed her! it
was her special time and she loves their food which she ate
from the bowl yesterday and last night. today she wanted me to
prove my unending love. Thanks again.
I'll quit with the
updates but you put so much work into doing what you do and
we'll be forever grateful. Jim took pix so we'll send when we
can get to the store with a high-speed connection. Hope none of
the family misses them too much!
Wendy & Jim
10/31/06:
hi, we are soooo happy. Jim just
called with an update- he is thrilled too. it's so funny how
happy he is with them and they know it. he beams, they
beam! I just cut my hours to 4 a day so for the next month
they'll have a few hours to bond w/ Murphy and Acadia. and
then we'll be together all the time. I can't stand being
here away from them.
11/3/06:
hi, i'm so bad at sending pix i had
to take the long way of doing it! Murphy started playing
with them last night- up til then he's kept his distance
but they like him anyway. we are so happy with them and
they are with us too. they wake me up at exactly 6:30am
and go out, then eat, then we have walk time , then
playtime and then i go to store. when i come home it's
pretty much the same schedule except a walk. it's too dark
but that'll be the schedule in fla. they curl up with me
for a couple hours, I wake them to go out, they eat a
little with Murph and Acadia and then play so they'll
sleep. one more time out and they all sleep like logs!
they kiss me constantly- they seem so happy! as you can
see Acadia likes the company. they sleep on your
little fleecy upstairs with us and sit with me on the
couch on the other fleecy.

TRINKET
Hi Auntie Cathie,
I'm doing just great with my new Mommy and Daddy and my new
brothers, Romeo and Travis. Mommy has
taken me to my new groomer Anna, who gave me a nice bubble
bath and a new do and bow. I really love it here. I get to
roam all over the house and explore and if I should forget to
let Mommy know I have to go out she doesn't get upset with
me. She understands it will take me time to get used to being
here but I try very hard. Mommy and Daddy took Romeo and I on
a camping trip last week in our RV. It was great. I got to
walk around and play and I bonded with my new older brother.
I also like it when Mommy and Daddy's grandchildren come over
to visit. Daddy said he will send you some pictures he took
of me and my new brothers. Thank
you for finding this nice new home for me.

CHANEL
Hi there....We love this doggie! She is
sooo good. Everything I would want in a dog: so loving and
loyal. Cuddly. Lies with us on the loveseat recliner every
nite--between us...head on Linda's arm or mine. She still
jumps down to follow me when I get up but it's cute. She will
jump down but can't jump up yet. There's a snuggle blanket
that we use for us that she loves as well--she even pulls it
off the couch to lie on. She doesn't really bark. She use to
at nite but that might have been a
separation thing. Now, when I put her in the bathroom for the
day or the nite, she just runs over and jumps in the dog bed,
with your orange blankey. No barking anymore.
She might eat like 10 pc. of food in the morning--at nite
she'll eat 1/4 cup in 3 minutes. Doesn't drink a lot. Today, I
didn't supply her water during the day...Is that bad? She
didn't poop in the room and only peed once during the day
today. ---ON the pee pee pad too! She has used the pee pad at
nite too...so that's progress. She hasn't peed outside since
the second day tho--I take her out every hour at nite; Tues, a
daughter was here during the day and took her out cpl times
too. No outside peeing....And she has never pooped outside.
I know the housetraining will take time....but that's all she
needs to do (or even show consistent pee pad usage) to have
the run of the house downstairs during the day and to be
allowed upstairs with us at nite...
We love her and she is very happy
here. She walks on the leash--taught her to walk and stay on
my right side most of the time. She stops when I stop, keeps
looking back at me walking. She does the same without the
leash as well. She loves to give kisses and roll over for
belly rubbing. She has eaten off my plate and loves a dab of
whip cream off my finger.
Her hair is starting to grow a bit already. I will send a
pic. next email. Thank you for this gift to our
family...
Hi, It's
been a while, but everything's still great !! I've enclosed a
few recent pictures of her. She went to the groomer for the
first time a week ago--she fluffed out nicely! I had dreams
of showing her but the discoloration blotch on her back has
squashed that. Oh well...Plus she really doesn't like men at
all. I think it's a bit more than just being defensive of me
too.
New Years weekend I decided to really do the housetraining
thing....She hasn't had one accident since! She enjoys full
run of the house now--even when we are gone 8 hours during the
day. I just have to stick to the schedule she expects I think.
Now and then she will make an effort to tell me she wants to
go out by sniffing all around the family room and maybe
jumping up and down on the couch but she doesn't bark or go
stand by the door or anything
obvious. If you
ask her, she may get excited, but otherwise: she waits for you
to encourage her to go out. She is surprisingly quite the
lap dog for only 3.5 years old. I would expect more desire to
run around but nahhhhhh. She goes out to do her business and
wants to come back in. She will run around crazy when loose
and I'm taunting her (outside) but not for too long--maybe
some exploring around too. She loves to sleep between Linda
and I on the loveseat--and will do that for 8 hours straight!
She will sleep next to me all night long in bed too: 8pm to
7am she's done, even. She's been about 8 lbs for a while
now. Very very loving of course. She's gotten use to the 2
grandkids coming over every other week: with their loud
voices and running around. Those kids have dogs of their own
and don't really hound Chanel
anyway--but initially their
hyperactivity made Chanel bark at them. Well, not much else to
comment on...She's an absolutely tremendous pet/family
member. Exactly the personality we were hoping for. I will
start training
her a bit with some other basic commands/tricks soon. Thanks
so much again for bringing her to us, Tom
Tom
and Linda
Chanel is a 3yo who was surrendered to a Vet. He saw the
condition she and her two other doggie friends were in and
convinced the woman he could find a good home for them. The
woman had become homeless and they were living in filth and
had to be anesthetized to be shaved down because the
mats were so bad! The three had been kept in crates for almost
a year!

HANNAH
Hi
Kerri: Little Mi ss
Hannah is doing very well, she seems pretty well adjusted to
everything. Took her to have her stitches out. She now
starting to give us lots of kisses. She is so excited to see
me when I get home from work she just about jumps in my arms
we love her so much. Thanks for everything.

TIKI
Hi- I'm enjoying my new home and brother
Taz. I'm being a good girl and Mike calls me Princess (Cindi
call s me Queen La Tiki). I feel like a princess and queen, I
was groomed this week and the groomer is making me all these
fancy bows, I had my Halloween one in but decided it was more
fun flinging it from my hair than actually wearing it !!!! I
have 2 new outfits that I wear if
it is cold. Life is really good....I
take lots of walks and have 3 beds to choose from, (one that is
heated) for napping. We go for rides quite often and I attract
a lot of attention wherever we go. I'm eating well and now
that Mike and Cindi shut off all the lights at night, I sleep
better and only wake up occasionally when I think that I need to
get attention....well, I am a princess and a queen so what do
you expect?!!! Hopefully Taz will come around and spend more
time with me but for now we get a long fine. I finally have my
home Forever so do not worry about me! Thank you for caring for
me and making sure I did get a good home.
Lastly, Cindi and Mike were so sad about Bindi, she is in our
prayers. I'll stay in touch.
Hi Cathie-
I hope all is well. This summer flew by and I realized that I
had not emailed about Tiki since we first moved from NH to NY.
Tiki is doing fantastic, she is healthy, happy and she and Taz
have become
good buddies. Although they do not play together, you never see
them too far away from each other. Tiki has done wonders for Taz,
he now eats just dog food and is not fussy like he was. His
confidence is such much better.
Tiki had a
great summer and discovered her love for the water! We put in a
pool and she just loves putting on her life jacket and swimming
with Mike next to her! She chases him all around the pool until
he lets her in to paddle around. Because of that, we did cut off
her waterfall and gave her a puppy cut but I know she is happier
as she used to rub her head all the time on the sofa and now she
is free of hair and bows on her head- we think she looks great. We both are
so in love with her and she has flourished with lots of
attention, activity and the good life. Best of all.....NO
Accidents!!!!Do you
still stay in touch with Rebecca? Please tell her we
send our best. Take care
and I'll keep updating you! Love
Tiki
and Cindi Ingalls
Update 7/15/08:Hi- Hope all is well in MA, Tiki is doing
great. She is definitely a mama's girl and we spend a lot of
time together. Now that the pool is open I take a back seat to
her swims with Mike- that is her time with her "Dad". We have a
fenced backyard and she loves to chase birds and chipmunks. Tiki
has really blossomed over the past couple years, she knows she
has her forever home and is confident, happy and very spoiled.
She and Taz are buddies. Although they do not play together,
they enjoy being close and have traveled quite a bit with us to
Inns and Hotels throughout New England. She loves it. Tiki is
99% house trained and only once in awhile converts going on a
throw rug, usually when she is super tired and not focused. We
never make a big deal of it as it is rare and we know that as a
show dog, she was trained to eliminate on throw rugs. As always,
Tiki is such a joy and we feel grateful to have her in our
lives. Thank you for the opportunity to adopt her. Keep up the
good work for the breed and I'll continue to give you updates.
Cindi Ingalls

Update 6/8/2009:Hi- I
am glad we had the time to talk this morning and thank you,
again, for all you do for this great breed! I will send the
check out today and I hope that it can help. I will keep you
posted on Taz and his heart issue, he sees the Cardiologist on
Saturday. Take care and know that Tiki is doing great, I will
send you a recent photo of her trip to Kennebunkport, ME. Warm
Regards,
Cindi

SAMMY
Hi Cathie!
Sammy
(now Samuel Glenn Herman, still called Sammy though) is doing
fabulous! It took him about 4 weeks to really get his bearings
in the new home we provided him, but once he got comfortable, he
really got comfortable. He is pretty much the king of the
castle! He gets first choice when it comes to choosing where he
wants to lounge. We have bought a set of "Doggy Steps"
for him since he cant jump up on the couches due to his
amputation, and he gets around just fine! I took him to the pet
store the first week I got him and let him pick out a toy; he
chose this yellow plush chew toy that we refer to as "long dog".
He carries it everywhere with him like a security blanket! I
have to take it away from him when we take walks because I don't
know what we would do if it got lost! Sammy is an absolute
sweetheart. He loves belly rubs and kisses and cuddles, and
always snuggles up to me at nighttime right before bed. As for
Sammy's health, he is perfect as far as I am concerned. When I
take him to the dog park, most people don't even notice his
missing back leg until he stops running around and they are able
to get a good look at him! A couple of weeks ago I brought him
to my church for a "blessing of the animals" ceremony, everyone
just fell in love with him (that seems to be the trend)! We
are truly blessed to have Sammy in our lives, he makes everyday
so special! We cannot thank you enough for t his
little man!
Hi Cathie!
I was just writing to give you a "Happy Tails" update on Sammy.
He is still doing fabulous! It is so nice to be able to
celebrate the holidays this year with him in our home. He still
loves the dog park and has developed a new habit of chasing
squirrels, his missing back leg doesn't stop him one bit! We
cannot thank you enough for this little angel,
I hope all
is well with you. Sammy is happier than ever because this past
weekend we flew to Maryland and picked up his new little
brother. I wrote a little update for his happy tails
section...
Sammy has
a new little brother! We flew down to Maryland and picked up
Cisco, another special needs Yorkie who needed a forever home.
Cisco has Alopecia X which caused all his hair to fall out but
other than that he is a healthy doggie! Sammy loves his new
little brother, they cuddle at night and play all day. Sammy
has never been happier, and he is oh so excited for the warm
weather that is coming up, yay for the dog park! Having Sammy
and Cisco and providing the extra care that they need is so
rewarding, we cannot thank you enough for Sammy and helping us
realize that special needs Yorkies are who we are called to
care for.
Thanks,
Alexandra
Herman
Sammy was a neglected stray brought in by a local ACO He had
been neglected so long of severe condition in one of his
rear legs it had to be amputated. Sammy is doing fine with out
it and he and Yorkies Inc are blessed to find him such a
fantastic home!

MAXX
Just wanted
to
tell you I am absolutely delighted with Maxx. He is
everything you said and then some. Thank you.
Doris Binder
Update 10/11/06: Maxx is the sweetest
little guy. We are a perfect match- loves to eat and sleep
but he also loves to sit in his car seat and go out. Could not
ask for a better little dog.
Hello
I am down in
Florida enjoying the sunshine. I love the warm breezes. I
was very good on the plane- just sat in my carrier under the
seat.It took me a few days to get used to my new home but
now I like it.I feel good. I gained 2 lbs.I am eating well.
I still hate my bath though. I will write again and
send photo.
Love,Maxx
Doris
Maxx is a 9yo was surrender because his senior owner went into
housing where she could not bring her beloved pup.

TALLULAH now MIMI
Hi, Cathie...
KISSES KISSES KISSES...I'm getting kisses!! She is such a
darling little girl! Her tail has been wagging constantly;
she and Tig ch ase
each other around (and that's when she goes into her
acrobatic routine--which is hilarious); and last night I
awoke in the middle of the night and peeked over the edge of
my bed...and she and Tig were cuddled up against each other
sound asleep. What a beautiful sight! Tig is himself
again...jumping and playing -- and eating...and that makes
my heart so happy. Our family is complete and our house is
a happy place to be again! You have no idea how much I
appreciate your kindness and caring...and for bringing such
joy into my life! I
will take your advice about assuming the alpha role. It
will be new for me...given that I am well disciplined and do
everything my furbabies tell me to do! :)
Take care, keep in touch, and I promise I'll send updates!
Donna
PS: Art is really funny...he is so
taken with Tillie...he spends more time in my house than
ever before, and she runs to him whenever she sees him. He
beams like a proud new papa!
UPDATE 10/12/06:
Well l, my sweet little girl chose her own
name. I tried Tally, Tilly, Lucy,
Lulu,
Daisy and she ignored me…but when I called "Mimi" she came
running from the other end of the house with her tail wagging
and her ears straight up…so I guess that's her name!! Must have
appealed to the poodle part of her. :) She is coming along
fabulously…eats like a little piglet, tears around the house at
full speed…and is climbing stairs, even though I've pampered her
and carried her up and down. She ran after Art when he went up
to his apartment and then came back down with him! She's a
tough little monkey, has a lot of spunk and doesn't take
anything from anyone. A girl after my own heart!! I always say,
you have to watch out for those little ones -- whether they be
canine or human! ;) She and Tig have bonded quickly…play all
the time, sleep curled up together…even eat out of each other's
dishes without any squabbles at all. What a pair! Hope both of
you and all your furbabies are doing well. Please keep me
updated!
Donna
Tallulah now MiMi is a 2yo who came into
Yorkies Inc with Chanel the Maltese. They and another poodle
friend were surrender to a Vet because of severe neglect. They
had been living for a year in crates because their owner became
homeless.
|
TUTTI now MIMI
Cathie,
Tutti (now MiMi) is an absolute doll. Her nickname is "Mrs.
Bellyrubbins!" The other dogs love her, and she loves
them. She is a wagging bundle of joy. Her eyes are doing
fine - sometimes a little gucky in the morning, but a soft
wet washcloth and her ointment work wonders. Putting the
artificial tears in her eyes once or twice more a day really
helps. She tolerates this very well, and doesn't scratch at
all.
Joanne Eddy
Tutti was a retired breeder pup who was adopted from PA. After
she traveled back to MA the new owners decided they didn't
want her because of an eye condition that is easily treated.
She was surrendered to Yorkies Inc and was adopted to Joanne
where she will live like the princess she was meant to be!

BECKY
I have taken her with me everywhere and
she just sits quietly next to me. She will let people pat her
but you know she doesn't like it. She will let some one hold
her but again she just looks at me and wants me to take her
back. When I left me with the groomer, she said she was OK
with her So it would seem if I left her she would handle it.
However, I love her too much to stress her out u ntil
she feels more at home. We have mastered one thing - potty
training is complete. Also, the last time I left her in the
house, she was not sitting by the door I went out until I came
back. She was somewhere in the house and ran to me when I
came it. This made me happy, because before I felt I could
not leave her. I am sure she will never be very
comfortable around people.
UPDATE: She went to a birthday party - Autumn is 1
year and they had a cake and ice cream. We all agreed that
in June we will celebrate Becky's 5th birthday.
Also my daughter who had said she did not want me to get a
dog, and she would not get another dog, held Becky most of
time and when we weren't looking Becky gave her two
little kisses ( she got so exited by this) she then
looked at Becky and said don't worry Becky anything happens,
you will be mine. You have certainly tried to win me over
and you sure have won. I love you very, very much. So at
the present Justin wants Becky , Charlene, my
granddaughter, wants her as a companion to Autumn and now my
Daughter says she is first in line. So you will never have
to worry about Becky - of course she is going nowhere except
to bed with me. She is so, is wonderful. Everyone that
sees her falls in love with her. Right now she is sitting by
my feet.
Barbara
UPDATE11/07/2007:
My Becky is wonderful. Only problem
she loves me too much - she gets so upset if I leave her
alone. We went on a four day trip last week to PA and upper
state NY She loves to ride in the back seat if I am
driving - if not driving she feels she must sit on my
lap. My friends all think she is the strangest dog they h ave ever seen. She will spend all the time they are here
just sleeping ON MY LAP> I take her to the senior center
some time and she just sits under my chair when I play
cards.
My daughter and my grandson both love to take her when I
am going somewhere. We will be starting to Florida in
January. Right now she is sleeping right next to my
chair. Best
Barbara Thornton
1/22/09: Hi Cathie, I will try to get a picture to you,
but I am not every good with the camera and sending .
I will be getting her cut the middle to February and
will do it then. She is happy healthy and still in love
with me. When I take her to cards she sits in the chair
next to me and watches but doesn't make sound. I wish
she would learn to play with toys but she seems to have
no idea what a toy is for or even a ball. Right now I
am in Florida and she is enjoying a walk twice and day,
warm weather. She weights 8 lbs 3 oz. The vet is very
happy that she isn't getting fat even though she eats
very well. She loves me and I love her. She is right
for me except she still gets very upset if I leave her
for very long Long being more than a hour. She would
rather go with me and wait in the car than be left at
home. Love
Barbara.

NOAH
now ROCKY
Rocky
(was No ah) and I
are doing GREAT! He is settling in beautifully and follows me
from room to room. He always manages to hop into my chair BEFORE
I do. I'm sure I'll be trained in no time!
Thank you for such a sweet, well-cared for
dog. He's a keeper!
UPDATE: HI THERE. JUST WANTED TO LET YOU
KNOW ROCKY IS DOING GREAT! HIS COAT IS GROWING MORE
EVERYDAY...AND NO BALD OR RED SPOTS. HE DOES LIKE TO SCRATCH,
OCCASIONALLY, BUT AM TRYING TO BREAK THAT HABIT. HE IS CERTAINLY
NOT NERVOUS. HE THINKS HE IS NOW THE ALPHA DOG OF THE
HOUSE...BUT I AM THE ALPHA DOG HERE. HE IS A BABY AT TIMES, A
CUDDLE BUNNY, ...AND HE'S LOVED. GOT THE PEN YOU RECOMMENDED.
JUST WONDERED WHAT KIND OF DOG SHAMPOO YOU USE. I USE BABY
SHAMPOO, BUT HE LOOKED MORE SHINY AT YOU HOUSE.
UPDATE:
Hi Cathie,
Just wanted to let you know I am going to take some photos of
Rocky (formerly Noah) and you will be getting a Happy New
Year's card in January! He is doing great. We are still
fighting for Alpha control....he is very stubborn and very
cute. His hair is coming in beautifully, but he still
scratches....not too much though. He is full of energy and
fun. We are best Buds. Thanks you so much. Love from Rocky,
the Rock Star, Rocky Road, etc. Lots of fun to the "gang"!.
Susan
Susan
Reid
Noah
now Rocky was surrendered due to skin allergies. With care and
the right diet he is doing wonderful!

BARON
Hi Kerri!
Just wanted to let you know that Baron is doing fantastic!
Baron is a real hit in town, & has made a lot of friends in just
one day :) He has established his "out house area" in the yard,
and has been very good about letting me know when he needs to go
outside........ He is a real sweet boy! Thank You soooooooo
much!!! I will get you & your Mom more pictures of him.
He loves his little chair-slept like a rock in that chair last
night! Thanks again! I'll keep you posted!
Update 8/28/06:
Aloha!!! Thanks for checking on me! It
is good to know that I have such a caring
circle of friends/family!!! My
summer is going great here in Old Saybrook! I have met a lot
of
"Little Furry Friends" down at the beach. We go down to see
the sunset at night, and take walks around the shore in the
morning & after dinner. We even go for strolls downtown,
where the shop owners are really dog friendly, so I don't have
to be afraid
of anyone. My Grandmother & Grandfather have me over for
Dinner several nights a
week, and love to spoil me when Alessyana isn't looking. I
have a whole new basket of toys over there...... so I seldom
sit still for even a minute. My Uncle Wayne has a few lap dogs
himself, so he is very experienced at giving belly rubs while
I perch on his lap.
Alessyana put a pet carrier on her
bicycle, so I can "Tour de Saybrook" with her. I can
bicycle 10 miles with her, and I'm not even breaking a sweat!
When we get to the office in the morning, I'm full of energy
for my role as the "Welcome Wagon". Who has it better than
me?????? :) :) :)
I have been taking a lot of pictures, so you can share in this
adventure! All in all, I'm having a grand ol' time at "Quimby
Club Med" ! Alessyana said you can visit me ANYTIME YOU WANT
!I'll keep you posted! Mahalo!
Baron says Aloha!!!
A & B : )
Aloha! We just got back from watching the sunset! I was just thinking about
both of you today. My Mom is also head over heals over this
little guy, and I have to arm wrestle her sometimes to get
Baron back into my lap when we visit. Baron barks at my Dad
if he doesn't rush over to hold him. He knows how to get your
attention! Baron is headed over to Newport with the family
tomorrow to celebrate my Birthday. He promised not to tell
anyone my age :) One of my birthday presents is a
"Jogger/Stroller" that I can sit him in when I go running. He
loves when I chauffeur him around town! His best friend
"Lola" is 5lbs of SASS, and she is teaching him all about the
"Pampered York ie " life! They are so funny to watch. She
chases him down, and he hides in my lap-terrified of her! He
knows it is safe to walk down to the beach in the morning,
because she goes to the office with her Mom & Dad. These dogs
have it made!
It looks like we will be heading to Florida for about a month around the
holidays. He loves to ride in the car with me, so I'm sure
the trip down will be fine. He loves to go for walks on nice
days, so I think he will be happy to head southwhen it is cold
up here. I will be getting back our digital camera, so I will
send you some new photos. Thank you sooooooo much for
Baron! He is a great companion, and watchdog!!! He is truly a
little Blessing!!! Hope you are all doing well!
Mahalo! Love, A
Kerry & Family,
Just wanted to send off a note of Thanks to you all. Baron & I
are very thankful for your help in making us family! He fits
right in, in fact, everyone "fights" over who gets to have him
in
their lap first. He is such a sweet little guy, and he
loooooves to travel. I never leave home without him!!!!
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Tell your Mom
Baron says hello!!!
Baron & Alessyana Q
Update 1/7/09:Hi Kerry & Family! Hope all is well with all
of you!!! Franklin is soooooooo cute! He & Baron look so
much alike, they must be related...I am putting together a
few photos for you so you can see the little "beach boy" in
action... He is getting along very well, and is getting
ready to head back to Florida for a little winter vacation.
I also wanted to let you know that I gave your name to a
women this past week-end. She lives in the Hartford
area, but spends the summer in their family cottage in Old
Lyme. I was walking down the street with Baron, and she &
her daughter stopped me to admire Baron & ask who his
breeder was... I told her about you & Yorkies Inc. Her
little "Airielle" died about 2 years ago, and she is waiting
for the right time to get a new puppy... Her name is Noreen
Fidler from South Windsor CT Keep a look-out for those
pictures I am sending over... Baron sends lots of hugs &
kisses!!!
Love,
The "Beach Q's" :)

DUTCH now CODY
Hi there, just want you to know how
happy we are to have Dutch/Cody in our family. We would like
to fully adopt this little guy, he is such a love.....thank
you for your patience with us, we do appreciate it....Cody is
doing fine and has actually shown some of his
wonderful
personality. The Vet saw him today and took out stitches and
checked him all over. Thinks he is a special guy and we will
enjoy him. Went to the pet store tonight and purchased a new
food, a new toothbrush, and comb, and bed, and so on and so
on. Please feel free to call me, on your time, and email me
also on your time. Cash the check, we love him dearly!!!!!!
The girls loved him and he loved them....they actually spent
the night sleeping on the couch with him...he is such a cuddle
bug! Thank you Cathie for your trust in us with this little
guy, know he will be loved and well taken care of. Thanks
again to you and Sue and the others, well can't say enough, I
just let people know about Yorkies Inc. p.s spoiled?
always!!!!
UPDATE: Hi Cathie, just wanted to update you on Cody.....he is
doing quite well here, has established himself nicely....such
a great dog, we are still thankful to have found such a nice,
cuddly, smart, friendly dog. He is such a delight to have.
Really warmed up to Shawn and might I add, anyone who comes
into our home. He now knows the word "Cookie" for treats.
Playing with his toys and jumping on and off the couch. He
loves to lay in my arms whenever I sit and read. He has
discovered it is nice to sleep on the pillows at the head of
our bed. Loves comfort, that is for sure!!!! talk soon, Cathie

CHESTER
I
think I'm alre ady
smitten with him. My husband can't wait to get home to meet
Chester. When we left your home, I stopped by the studio I
paint at on Thursdays so they could meet Chester. I have
attached some of the pictures we took. I will send you some
from Albany.
Update 8/8/06:Hi Just thought I would let you know Chester
is doing fine and seems to have adjusted to his new
surroundings, although
I'm not sure he believes he is here
to stay. We are going away this afternoon for a few days,
but will try and get you some photos soon. One quick
question: Where can I get more of the diaper you gave me? He
seems to no to poop outside but we are still working on the
other.
Update: He is doing great; I don’t think that wire
ever really bothered him. He is such a joy. I just had to
take this picture; this is his idea of helping me do paper
work, every time I move he has to check out where I’m going.
I can’t thank you enough for allowing him to be part of our
lives.

PEPINO
now PEANUT
Peanut is still peeing in the belly band (about 3 times a day)
but
also peeing outside (at least 4 times a day) and walking
without a
problem now that we take him to the park every morning and
evening...he
runs like the dickens! It has really changed his attitude...he
is so
much more positive now. We take them to the gated little
league field
and because of his "issues" with borders, every time he gets
on the
baseball diamond, he runs around all of the bases at full
tilt! It's so
funny to watch, it looks like he knows what he's doing. He
also runs
full steam into the side of Teddy like he's hitting a brick
wall and
then bites Teddy's ears and barks in his face. Which makes
Teddy take
off running and Peanut follows him and herds him like a sheep
dog...it
is so funny.
He is no longer pooping in the house which is a
good thing. And at one point when I thought I couldn't take it
any
more, I put the pee pads back down for 2 days to go back to
that
routine and he refused to go on them...he'd only go outside
so, he's getting it! I am still unsure if he just has a tiny
bladder or has a problem, because he also drinks more water
than he should. So, I ordered a homeopathic remedy for
increased bladder control and I'll let you know how that goes.
He still circles, but only during certain times: when he gets
excited or stressed. I think the circling is just what he had
to do to relieve his nervous
excitement in such a small cage.
More progress:
He knows when we are scolding him now, before, he didn't even
look at
us and had no idea it was directed toward him when we'd say
"No
Peanut!"...now when he starts chewing Teddy's harness (which
is on
Teddy while he's doing it) and we say, "No Peanut!" he stops
and looks
at us and then walks away.
Also, after over a month of driving in the car with my hand on
Peanut's
butt holding him in a sitting position while he struggles to
get up, he
is finally sitting on his own! He is so hyperactive and was
never
taught how to sit before, and as I predicted, it makes him so
much more
relaxed when we drive in the car and he looks so cute sitting
in his car seat!
It has also helped him when I hold him in my arms...he no
longer
strains to the side like he's off balance...he tucks his
little legs up
and lets me hold his bum.
We have him on the same eating schedule as Teddy now, 2 big
meals a day
with dry food and bones in between, and he eats everything we
put in
front of him. He actually runs to the laundry room door now
when I take
the food out of the microwave because that is where we feed
him and he
can't wait to start eating!
He's such a snuggle bug too! Bob loves to sleep with him! When
he curls
up in a ball on Bob's pillow, he trusts Bob to pick him up and
move him
without changing position...he remains in a little ball!
He no longer jumps over the thresholds and he's learned to
climb the
front steps (8 of them!) into the house on the leash with
Teddy after their
walk!!! So his neurological problems are not as bad as we
thought. He loves to give and get kisses now...he'll lick your
face forever if you don't pull away. And...AN ADDED
BONUS...Teddy no longer has excitement urination when we come
home...STRANGE! For the first year and a half that we had him
he peed all over us, the floor, himself, the bed, everything
when we came home because he was
so
excited, now he just comes over and wags his
tail!! I am baffled! Teddy also listens and obeys us so much
more and
does it happily. He also sleeps through the night IN MY
ARMS...he has
NEVER ever done this before and he sleeps on Bob's head in the
pillows
too. Whenever I would be gone for any amount of time to run
errands, he would lay in the hall at the top of the stairs and
ignore Bob for 4 hours or more,
just waiting for me to come home...now he lays with Bob on the
couch
the moment I leave. I am amazed at the positive affect Peanut
has had
on Teddy's socialization and his attitude about other people
besides
me! Bob keeps saying, "I can't believe I didn't know what a
wonderful
little dog Teddy was until we got Peanut...I LOVE him now!"
Karen & Bob
Pepino (now Peanut) came into Yorkies Inc as a frail "failure to
thrive" pup (just 3 lbs) that had suffered what was believed to
be either a stroke or hypoglycemic episode. Whatever it was left
Peanut with some neurological problems that we didn't know for
sure would ever improve. Though we did have high hopes that with
some love and attention and LOTS of work and patience, Peanut
would blossom. Finding the right home to help Peanut achieve as
much as possible was going to take a lot of luck. We needed a
home very special. A home dedicated, diligent, had to have
patience and more patience and most all LOVE! We found that home
and more with Karen and Bob! Karen works from their home and has
another rescued Yorkie that came to her with issues too... but
NOTHING like what her and Bob would undertake with Peanut. In
just 3 short months (I can bet that Karen didn't feel it was
short!:) Peanut is doing better than we had hoped. We all feel
that given even more time Peanut will be even better! He
certainly was worth the efforts! We can't thank Karen and Bob
enough for the wonderful home they have been for Peanut. His
progress has been amazing living with someone willing to take
the time with him!.

MAC
Hi
Marg o,
Mac is such a sweety. Everyone here has fallen in love with
him. It took a little time for my other 2 dogs and Mac to get
used to each other, but now it's like he's always been with us.
He's truly become one of the family. He is prancing around with
his tail held high and is busy playing ball with Riley, my other
poodle. At night he's such a snuggle bunny. He sleeps up by my
head and Riley sleeps against my back. It's such a comfort.
He also has made it his business to check on my kids, mostly my
daughter to see what they're doing. He likes to go down the
stairs to her room and hang out with her. Adopting Mac was one
of the best things I have ever done. I can't thank you enough.
Attached you'll find a couple of pictures. I gave him a hug and
a kiss from you. I don't know how you do what you do. You are
an amazing person and again thank you for bringing our newest
member into our family.

LARRY now TIMMY
Who will love this little guy?
That had to be what the folks at Yorkies,
Inc were thinking when Timmy came their way. Rescued from a
pound in New Jersey, we can only guess that he was a puppy mill
dog who had outlived his usefulness, and who was never anyone's
beloved baby. About twelve years old, he looked and acted older!
Living in what was probably a damp and dirty cage, all the fur
had eroded from his face, and his ears were like old leather. He
had no teeth, and his eyes were clouded. Given the name "Larry,"
this tiny guy seemed to feel hopeless. Once safe in a Yorkie's
Inc, home, he was given a snuggly
basket to sleep in, and he hobbled out only to eat or "do his
business."
We
contacted Yorkies, Inc after the passing of our beloved Yorkie,
Forrest. We knew the joys of giving a senior dog a ho me,
but wanted a younger dog, to keep our elderly mini-schnauzer
company. We fully intended to adopt Darla, a beautiful little
girl who was "the Shirley Temple of dogs." But then, I spotted
"Larry" and I knew that he was meant for us.
Renamed
Timmy, this tiny mite is the king at home. He follows his "big
sister" Fancy around and often kicks her out of her larger
basket so that he can sleep there. Although he does not see
well, he knows when someone is eating, and will often jump up on
his back legs to "beg" (and he doesn't have to beg for long!) He
explores the house, and navigates really well. He tolerates
getting a bath in a little basin, and it is wonderful to see how
soft and shiny his fur is now! Most of all, he loves to be held
like a baby. He looks so cute when he snoozes in our arms.
And so, to
the question "Who will love this little guy?," the answer is -
we do, with all our hearts!
Hi Cathie,
I just
wanted to let you know that all is well with Fancy, Timmy and
Mimi. "The girls" have really bonded! Poor Timmy - every once in
a while, he remembers his old puppy mill days and tries to get
romantic with Mimi or Fancy. Poor Mimi looks absolutely
horrified ("Oh no, more puppies") and scoots off. Fancy, who is
more than four times his weight, just gives him a look as if to
say, "You are kidding, aren't you?" and walks off. Sometimes, a
bit of intervention is required - we pick Timmy up and face him
in another direction and he forgets what he "wanted to do." Mimi
just went to the groomers, and looks absolutely adorable for the
holidays. She's still quite timid, but is an absolute love.
Happy Thanksgiving, and thank you for bringing Timmy and Mimi
into our lives. Joanne
Joanne Eddy
Larry
(now Timmy) is the son of Rosie above! He was surrender to the
Vet's office as well because they no longer wanted him. The same
good Samaritan contacted Yorkies Inc about him and Joanne
was more than happy to pass over the perfect Yorkie female she
was approved for in order to give Timmy a home! There is a
special place in our hearts and in Heaven for people like
Joanne! |
AUDREY
I
just want you to k now
that Audrey is absolutely awesome!!! She slept very quietly
last night curled up on the soft blanket that I keep on the
end of our bed, with her head on Rick’s leg. She woke up when
we did, danced around, I let her out and she immediately
peed. She ate her breakfast (and Codi’s too), and went out
and pooped. She even followed Codi through the doggie door!
As you can see, I was able to take pictures and she did not
mind at all. She is playing with her ball, and does not run
away when I go to pick her up.
We just love her, thank you again so
much, we are truly blessed to have her in our lives,
UPDATE:
Hi
Kerri, We are finally home from our travels, at least for a
while. In the 3 weeks that we have had Audrey, she has been
to Maine twice and PA twice – what a great car rider she is!!
We have been working on the doggie door training, but she
seems to be afraid. She goes through when we hold it open,
but has not gone through on her own yet. Cody is so much
happier since Audrey has been with us. They get along really
well, chasing each other around the yard - she is really
fast!
Audrey is a real love – she is never far from me, and shows
her affection constantly. She is getting the idea that she is
here to stay, and is getting less nervous when I go out. She
and Cody are right at the door vying for my attention when I
get home. Hope all is well with you and your pups,
Laura
UPDATE 10/3/06:I
wanted to give you an update on Audrey. I have attached a
picture that I took today, and she was not the least bit
scared of the camera!! She has been such a joy to us and has
bonded so well not only with me and Codi, but with my husband
and my mom and her dog as well. She barks at strange noises
outside – she has become quite the little watch dog. We have
fattened her up to about 6.5 lbs, and she is looking so
beautiful. I have groomed her twice myself, she does not
particularly like it, but stands nice and still and licks my
hand and face the whole time. She has this thing with taking
all her toys out of the basket, and her soft little bed (which
Codi is in right now, and anytime she gets out) and puts them
all in front of the kitchen sink! She is just so funny, what a
fantastic personality she has!! The doggy door has been quite
the challenge for her. She goes through it, but only after
telling me she has to go out, and me giving her permission to
do so. I wonder if “asking permission” to go outside was part
of her training. She comes in from outside through the door,
but only if I go out on the deck, and tell her it is ok! I am
hoping that she uses it when I am not here – she has not had
an accident in the house since her 2nd week with us, so maybe
she does. I hope that is the case since I will be starting
back to work 3 days/week in a few weeks - I have been home all
summer. We love her so much!!!!
Hope things are well for you and your pups, and that your sick
one is doing ok,
Hi Kerri,
Audrey, appropriately nicknamed “the princess” is doing
absolutely great!!! She almost never cowers or shakes
anymore, and just loves it when her daddy carries her
around. She has a new little brother as of last week. We
adopted a 5/6 yr. old 9lb apricot male poodle from the
poodle rescue in CT. Snookie lived in NY City with an
elderly man that suddenly died. He was so incredible sad
for a few days, but he is really coming around and he and
Audrey have become good friends. Rick also calls Audrey
“sugar bear” as her little pet name. He just absolutely
adores her, and wants a house full of little poodles now!!
We will probably get one more, basically like Audrey,
female, small and a little younger, no older than 3 yrs. If
you hear of one like that please let us know. Audrey has
brought us so much joy, we want to provide a loving home for
another homeless poodle. Hope your babies are all well,
Happy Thanksgiving to you,

JASMINE
Hi
Cathie,
I
cannot tell you how happy we are with Jasmine. She is absolutely
everything her first owner said she was and more. She is a wolf
in a 12# body – all heart and determination. She is sweet, she
is obedient, she is entertaining with her crazy antics and
smart , and she is an absolute firecracker we have quickly
come to love. She has quickly adjusted to us (slept all night,
no crying - even on her first night) and has somehow figured
out that if she warms up to “Mom” she’s in like Flynn. Needless
to say in the few days we have had her she has been nothing but
wonderful and we can’t imagine what we did without her. Our kids
(and we) are ecstatic!!!! Thanks for all the helpful suggestions
( she loves her new food) and for doing what you do. You’re a
great matchmaker.
Warmest regards,
Curt, Rita, Cam and Marina |
Chrissy
is doing good
and
she and Yoshi get along very well now. He no longer tries to
mount her) She still needs reinforcement on where she is
allowed to pee-poop and is still a little hyper. She is also
very leery of Bruce and will not go to him of her own will.
Bruce holds her a couple times a day for 1/2-1 hr each time
and she will stay but shakes all over. We are looking into
training classes for the 4 of us in hopes that this will help
her. I will keep you posted. Thanks again for allowing us to
adopt BOTH our babies. We just love them..

BRANDI
Hi Cathie,
Things are going fine. Brandi seems to
be settling in with us very well, she does spend a little
bit of time in the morning under the couch. She sleeps in
her own crate with the door open and her snuggly in our
bedroom. She loves to play tug of war and she really loves
that "daisy" toy you gave us for her. Where did you find
that? she loves it! (It might need a replacement before too
long.) We have named it Daisy and she is smart as a whip,
if you ask her where "daisy" is or tell her to go get daisy
she does. She is a very happy dog and she seems like she is
adjusting to this move very well. We are so glad to have
her. :O)
UPDATE: 7/06
Gotta tell you she is awesome. We
love her and she is truly a little bright spot. We are so
very glad we found her. It is easy to see how you fell in
love with her so easily because we have too. Sure seems
like we've had her for more than just a few weeks. I sure
hope Lisa knows she is in a good home and we will love her
as much as she did.
UPDATE: 10/06
Hi
Cathie,
We are lovin Brandi soooo much. She is a beautiful well
behaved dog. Her fur has grown out wonderfully, no short
black spot before her tail as she very rarely goes under
the furniture. We just took her to the groomer and she
looks so beautiful. We also got her a raincoat for when
it rains really hard as she gets so wet. she really
seems to not mind the raincoat at all. She is "daddy's
little girl". We are wondering if you know if she was
very close to the male at her pervious home as she has
become very close to Kent. We are so happy to have been
able to adopt her, she is more than we could have hoped
for.
We truly love this little dog.
Hope all is well.
Here's hoping that you and yours have a very Happy
Holiday! We have our beautiful Pomeranian Brandi to
spend it with. She is still doing great and we love
having her.
She has 4 dog toys she's getting
for Christmas, I have never given my dogs more than
one. She is just too easy too spoil, but we have been
watching her weight and she's doing well!
I bet all your Yorkie's will be fun at Christmas!
Just thought we'd send a Brandi update! She's doing
great, not quite so skittish of feet and tight
places. Still the favorite toy is the "daisy" she's
been thru 4 of them since June. I have had to sew
patches on this last one. The lady on ebay doesn't
have anymore. She's going to let me know when she
gets some more in. She doesn't like to be out in the
snow and cold at night, so she gets right to
business and right back in the house! We are lovin
that.
She is a joy everyday!

DARLA now GEORGIA
Hi Sue and
Cathie!
Things are
going SO well with Darla (she is now Georgia)! She is adjusting
beautifully and learning new things every day. She has attached
herself to me even better than my own shadow and is happiest
when she is curle d up on my lap or right next to me. She is
slowly learning how to play with toys. So far she has figured
out that they are fun to pick up and carry to a new spot - we
are still working on tug of war and fetch. Her potty training is
coming along well. She is so anxious to please me and she has
figured out that if she holds her pee and goes several times
each walk she gets praised more often! She watches her "big
brother" (my other Yorkie - Kota - who has a few pounds on her)
and tries to copy some of the things he does. She has now,
rather unfortunately, learned to bark whenever someone comes in
the house. :-) Other than that, she is the quietest Yorkie I
have ever met! She still sleeps a lot, but she is more and more
active and animated every day. I took her to visit my parents
and she and my mom fell in love with each other, which was so
gratifying. She is much mor e comfortable around new people now
and jumps over and under any other dog around to be the first to
get attention from someone new. I have also noticed a few odd
traits she has, maybe to do with how she was treated previously.
She is much more uncomfortable around men, especially outdoors.
She has gotten over that fear with Josh, my husband, but she
carefully watches any other men around her. She is also
terrified of being kicked, which I discovered when stepping over
a tangled leash. She drops onto her belly with a terrified look
ok her face. It is heartbreaking... She is slowly getting over
that fear and I hope time will completely heal those scars for
her. She is also very afraid of loud noises nearby,
for example when something falls on the floor. But I am noticing
improvements every day. She is becoming such a happy, animated
little girl and I love her dearly. Thank you so so much for
bringing her into my family. I had wanted to send some photos of
her and her new doggie friends, but I haven't yet located the
cord to attach my camera to my computer. As soon as I do, I will
email a picture or more, if I have them by then. I promise to
keep in touch. Again, I cannot thank you enough for entrusting
her to my care. I absolutely adore her and I would like to think
that she could not have found a better home than ours.
Hi Sue!
Just
thought I'd email you an update on Georgia (formerly Darla) and
her brother, Kota. We are all getting along SOOO well! Kota is
used to having a sister now and even gets upset when GiGi (her
nickname) is not around. We all 4 cuddle in bed every night and
now that it is getting cold out GiGi has learned to burrow under
the covers to stay warm! Kota and GiGi "kiss" every morning when
they wake up -- they lick each others noses to say good morning!
Sooo cute! GiGi wasn't much of a "kisser" when she came, but she
learned from the best and now kisses just as much as any dog!
She loves to cuddle in the weirdest places -- she picks a tall
stack of pillows, climbs her way to the top and settles down for
a nap. She also taught Kota that it's much more fun to eat if
you carry a mouthful of food halfway across the room first! This
is incredible progress for her, since she wouldn't eat anywhere
but her cage when I first got her home. She is also making
progress with doors -- she runs out of them easily, but is still
timid about entering the house. She still cowers a bit when you
go to pet her and she is terrified of
loud noises (except for thunder). But all in all, she is making
great progress and I can't imagine life without her. We are
sending a few pictures -- she's hard to photograph when she's
not sleeping because she doesn't stop moving!!! Thanks again for
making her a part of our family!
Hi Sue and
Cathie!
Just thought
you might like an update at Georgia's one year anniversary
living with us! It seems like she's been a part of our family
forever, and we love her dearly. She is much more outgoing,
happy to walk right up t o
new people and ask for love. She's a HUGE hit at the local
dog park, where there is a run full of dogs and people all the
time. The dogs mostly ignore her, but the
people can't
get enough of her! She plays musical laps with the
humans while the other dogs chase each other. She doesn't
much love playing with other dogs, but she'll happily play
with Dakota, her 'brother.' She has learned how to steal his
toys to get a rise out of him and they are hysterical
together.
On a sad
note, Georgia was discovered to have luxating patellas in both
of her hind legs. She will be having surgery later this
summer when I can take a week off to monitor her recovery more
closely. If you know of anyway I might be able to get a
discount for having rescued her, that would be a big help.
I enjoy
hearing about the Yorkie's Inc playdates -- I wish I lived
closer so that we could attend. However, we have found some
doggie 'play groups' here, and we have fun meeting the other
dog owners in our area.
Enjoy the
pictures -- they are from this past weekend. Georgia's new
"teddy bear" haircut is adorable on her!
Yours very
truly,
Keren Levine

HERCULES
After losing my 13-year-old Yorkie, Paloma,
I was devastated and filled with despair. Those of you who have
owned a Yorkie understand how they entangle themselves into the
very fabric of your lives. Because they love to be with people,
Yorkies follow you throughout the house. The loss of this
constant companionship is seve re. Thank goodness for Yorkies,
Inc. I contacted Yorkies, Inc. to ask for their help in finding
a new Yorkie to join our family. The right fit was essential.
With two children - ages three and eight, I needed a dog that
would enjoy being with children, enjoy going to the playground
and was well socialized with people, as well as, other animals.
Finding the right fit and being patient enough to wait was the
hardest part. A couple of different dogs were possible adoptees,
but they were either adopted out closer to their foster homes or
were disqualified as unsuitable candidates for our active
lifestyle. Finally, Hercules became available and we
now have a new member of our family.
Hercules, an almost one-year old male Yorkie, was too active for
his original home in an apartment with a working owner. As a
stay-at-home mom, I am able to keep Hercules busy, (the other
way around, really), meanwhile Hercules enjoys playing with the
children, going to their activities and taking long walks in the
woods. Although having a puppy again can be a challenge, we
definitely have found a new member of our family – Hercules fits
right in. He even enjoys swimming in our pool! With all our
gratitude, THANKS, Yorkies, Inc., we love our new member of the
family.

JINGLES now BUGSEY
Hello Sue,
We named the puppy Bugsey (formally Jingles). He is so sweet,
loving and exactly what my family needed. He loves to take
walks, he love us all and enjoys sleeping next to me
sleeping on my pillow with me. He is a big fan of my of my
twin girls. He knows when the bus comes and he gets very
excited when the arrive to the door. My husband and he have
a relationship that many dogs have. My husband takes him up
to bed before I do. I want to thank you so much for giving
us the opportunity to love and devote our life's to this
sweet kind hearted yorkie. He still has a lot of accidents
in the house despite the bell on the door and the signs I
was used to. How do we have him express himself? My other
yorkie used to ring the bell to the back door? I look
forward to another Yorkie meeting until then thanks a
million for Bugsey.....
Love Shelly Pisto and family.

Thank you and Yorki es
Inc. for our new little girl "Jazzy". She is such a special
dog. She loves to play and is very interested in everything
that is going on. She loves to look outside and spends a
lot of time watching the birds through the front windows.
When we go for a walk on the beach she happily leads the
way.
Everyone is saying she is the most beautiful Yorkie that we
have had. That is saying something as Jazzy is our 5th
Yorkie in the 32 years we have been married. When she first
arrived she wouldn't leave my side but now she is definitely
becoming Daddy's girl. When he comes home at night she
greets him at the door by running around in circles and she
won't stop until he picks her up and gives her loves. She
came to us with a lot of good training so the adjustment to
her new home has been relatively easy. We are so grateful
for this special little girl that is now in our lives. Thank
you! Thank you! Thank you!
Nancy and John Bourque
UPDATE 4/12/06: Everything
is going well. Jazzy is so happy. She sleeps
late in the morning and glued to my side all night long in
bed..

ROCKY
Cathie

I
can not begin to tell you how special Rocky has become to our
family. He is making great strides since his right hip
surgery. With each day that goes by his ability to use his
right leg is improving. He has a wonderful personality, he
plays with his new brother Riley, running all around the
house. He is still learning how to walk on a leash, and he's
not able to climb yet. He loves to be in your lap, and is
quite willing to share the attention. Thank you for letting us
adopt Rocky, he's a special little guy.

LUKE
Hi Sue and Cat hie,
Both
new Mom and baby are doing well and now at home enjoying the
quiet Cape Cod life together". He is very relaxed and makes
himself at home anywhere in my cottage, so I now know that he
has "arrived". I gave him a shampoo before his photo was
taken and he did very well with that, seemed to enjoy even the
blow dryer. (The photo was taken at our Dennis Senior Center)
UPDATE:
What a
difference time makes; Luke is completely a different dog in
all areas. He now goes out to potty and even selects an
area away from the house for BM's. Before he would walk
and come in an urinate on the blue paper; and belly bands are
a thing of the past. He goes to the hairdressers and sits on
my lap to greet everyone who comes in. We traveled to my
condo in FL. and he roughed housed with my son, loved to chase
and jump at him and talk to him. He flew under the seat in a
Sherpa bag designed for the airline flight and he was an
angel; never barked the entire trip in the airport and on the
plane. I had tranquilizer but it was not needed. From Logan I
stopped for breakfast at Hearth and Kettle in Weymouth and
took him in the bag, sat beside me and not a peep. THIS HAS
BEEN A LESSON TO ANYONE ADOPTING A PET OR A CHILD; love,
patience and security is all that is needed for renewal of
spirit and life. Be patient and all will work out. The Vet.
suggested we keep him on the RX Id can dog food which is
easier on him with his delicate GI system, but I warm it in
the microwave with either chicken livers or chicken breast to
make it move
enjoyable. Luke probably weighs a healthy 6 lbs. THANK YOU FOR
LUKE WHO I
KNOW REFER TO AS: "SAINT LUKE".

MILLIE
Note: Just two weeks ago Yorkies Inc was called to take in
three "backyard breeder dogs" from NH. At the time our two
foster homes were already full but how could we say no to
these three pups that had been left in an abandoned shack with
no heat or food or water. We were told they were badly i n
need of vetting. The woman who had them new poor 10 year old
Millie had multiple Mammary gland tumors but refused to have
them removed because she was "still using her for
breeding"!!! They were brought to the nearest vet to be
completely vetted and get their dentals and Millie's much
needed surgery to remove those large tumors. We then posted
them to the Yorkies Inc website. Almost immediately I received
an email from a very loyal supporter. Kathy had seen the new
pups posted and asked is there "anything we can do." I don't
think she knew the impact those words would make....In
desperation I asked if she and Linda would consider
"fostering" Millie
for Yorkies Inc., as I knew they had a
rescued "Mill girl" about Millie's age at home, along with
another female Yorkie. I knew that they knew what to expect
with her behavior and condition etc. Kathy and Linda didn't
hesitate and Millie was brought to them that day. They had
prepared her a clean area in their kitchen for her to recove r
from her ordeal and let her body heal from the surgery. We
were kept updated
on every progress Millie made. We were
all surprised to see what great pups had come from this
horrible situation and Millie was flourishing so nicely and
even seemed housetrained. Anna their other rescue Yorkie
welcomed her and Nikki the "original princess" seemed to be
accepting her as well. Within a few days I got the next
"update" email asking if we had gotten any adoption
applications for Millie and more importantly could they
"Adopt" her! I already knew the answer... I was thrilled that
Millie would not have to go anywhere that she was already
"home". We can never thank Linda and Kathy enough for opening
their homes and now their hearts to precious Millie! We are so
very lucky to have found such wonderful people! Below is a
card we received with a check for Yorkies Inc.
Hi
Cathie,
Millie
is a very sweet little dog! I can't get over what a great
disposition she has and how she loves to be around people.
It was meant to be and we are blessed to have her in our
home. Thanks to you (and Millie) we are happy to be part of
the Yorkies Inc. family! :)
Linda (pictured with Millie above)
Here's
a donation for Millie's adoption, use it where it is most
needed. Thanks for letting us fail "Fostering 101"
Thanks, Kathy
UPDATE2/25/06:Hi
Cathie, Well Millie is doing GREAT.
Last
week when I had to feed her boiled chicken and rice,
she got the taste of the good life and now she doesn't
want her dry dog food (she is no fool). I
had a party at my house on Sunday and EVERYONE loved
her......she is a true ambassador for YORKIES INC.
Hope
all is going well and see ya soon

MYA
now MIA
Hi Cathie,
I am sure you are wondering how we are doing with Mia
(formerly Mya) since
she has been with us for two weeks as of today.
She is doing wonderfully, as you predicted. Her personality
is coming out
and she is now part of our family. She is happy, especially
when we are
all hom e. She runs from room to room, not wanting to miss
anything. She
is learning to go potty outside and LOVES to get treats when
she is
done. Once in a while she has an accident but it is usually
our fault for
not reading her correctly. We take her out for rides in the
car and she is
still a little frightened, but it is getting better each time. She
is such a good little dog and we are so happy to have her.
Her hair is growing out and it is not quite time for a
haircut. Danielle and I took her to Petco looking for dog
clothes and we couldn't find anything other than a Barbie
raincoat that would fit. I ended up making a velour jacket
with pearl trim around the collar. My cousin is mailing me a
pattern for a sweater, which I intend to knit as soon as I get
the pattern. Thanks again for everything Cathie. Our house is
now happy again because of our darling little Mia.
Ron and daughter Danielle w/Mia

TIMOTHY
It’s been a week
a nd a half and
all has been great! This is the first picture (of many I am
sure) of Timothy
with Eddie and I and I am sorry it’s not a great one of him. He
is the sweetest little dog we have ever met. He is doing great
with his training and each day he is becoming less and less shy
and more adjusted to his surroundings. That little tail of his
wags constantly now. He loves playing with us as well as being
a couch potato with Eddie. We just love him.
Thanks again for such a great addition to our family.

& Eddie Colbert
UPDATE
2/2/06:Just thought I would drop you a quick line about our
precious Timothy. He is really adjusting well to his new
life. He is now starting to love riding in the car helping
me do my weekend errands. He gets all the attention
everywhere we go. He was a big hit at my hairdressers last
weekend! I was lucky they let me leave with him. I
love how excited he gets when we get home from work and he can
spend the rest of the night being on our laps or snuggled up
beside us. Thanks again for bringing such lovely, adorable and
loving little bundle to our home.
UPDATE:
Here are some new pi ctures
of our little Timothy. He had his first trip to cape cod in
April and he did great on the ride to and from. We have a little
car seat for him and he curls up and sleeps. He loves to come
out with us and is getting better about warming up to strangers.
Everywhere we go he is the center of attention- who can resist-
he is adorable! As you can see he loves sleeping in the bed with
us. We are so happy with him and so far he seems happy to be a
part of our family. I especially love how he jumps up and down
at the gate in the kitchen when he hears us coming home at night
after work. It has been a perfect match!
