Scarlett

Scarlett (L) & Mouse (R)
Cathie,
Scarlett has finally settled in. She is up to normal weight
at around 6.75# and has taken to running around the house and
wrestling with Mouse. She is so funny with new things like
snow. She tried to stand on 1 foot when she went out in it
the other day. I know that I have been remiss. I will send
some pictures along with the agreement in the next few days.
Thank you,
Dr
D
Note: Scarlett is
the second poodle Dr Timothy Donovan has adopted through
Yorkies Inc.
He and his wife Cheryl adopted Mouse the little black
female last year. Together they own and operate
Kindred Spirits
Mobile Veterinary Services
out of Acushnet Ma. Dr Donovan has been one of our Vets for many
years and has done many of our Luxating Patella surgeries. We
recommend him for any of your vetting needs. They make house

Kiani
now
KiKi

Hello Aunt Cathie,
This is Kiani but my new Mommy &
Daddy call me Ki-Ki which I like very well. Yes, Mom is
sending the check today( like they say it in the mail ) along
with my Adoption Agreement.So
this is going to be my forever home. I'm doing pretty good
with going outside to the potty an on snow days going on the
paper. I sleep all night in the big bed with Mommy & Daddy an
they like that alot. We are trying to put on some weight
because Dr. M says I need a good two pounds I'm only 4lbs
6ozs. I'm doing really good eating all my food. I got a new
green one's-z today an I look great in it. So please put on the Web site that
I've been adoped an I just love it here! So everyone will
know. Now if you find a brother for me that would make the
world a wonderful place , but we'll wait till one comes along. I went downtown Leominster to the
Christmas Stroll in my bag an everyone loved me. There was
Christmas Carols, Hot Choc.,Cookies, Cider, a parade, but it
was real cold so Dad can't stay out in that weather so we came
home early , BUT I WAS A HIT!
Ok now don't forget where I live in
my forever home.
Love, & Kisses, Ki-Ki

Donnie
now
Dove

Hi Kerri, The container/bowl could be
part of the issue. I noticed
that Donnie, who I've renamed Dove, backed away from a
stainless steel
bowl and moved toward a ceramic one, although without
drinking. This morning when we came inside from
letting him relieve himself, he
waited in the kitchen for his meal to be prepared instead of
making a
bee line for the couch, as he'd previously done. Also, I put
him in
his jacket and tucked him into my sweater for a short tour of
the
neighborhood. Tomorrow's supposed to be in the mid-50's and
I'm
planning to take him out on a lead. I'm hoping to acclimate
him to the
cold because that's what lies ahead of us for the next five
months, and we don't want him to turn into a couch potato, do we!?!
He's very
alert but not willing to play yet. It may be the slipperiness
of the
wood floor. I'll find a carpet remnant and see if that helps.
He sure is one sweet boy!
Leah
Hi, Kerri.
Dove continues to adjust nicely. He's begun exploring his new
home.
While the weather is warmish, we're spending more time
outdoors,
alternating carrying him inside my sweater and walking on a
lead. The
neighbors have been delighted to meet him.
Could you send again the photo of Donny (as he was then
called) with
your Yorkies, as an attachment that I might download? I've
just
switched to Gmail and, as usual, some options aren't yet
available on
my Mac.
Thanks for everything.

Hi Cathie, Thank you so much for your part in helping Gorden to
find his "forever
home" with us. Gorden came into our lives at just the right
time - we
brought him home the week before Fancy (our much loved mini
schnauzer)
passed away. Although one dog can never replace another in our
home and
in our hearts, it has been so wonderful to have Gorden's sweet
face to
greet us. Isn't he just the cutest thing? He and Mimi make the
most
adorable "couple" - Mr. and Mrs. Bellyrubbins! Our other
"senior" dog,
Reggie, (also a recent rescue) just loves him, too! We took
these
pictures before Gorden went to the groomer. We wanted to wait
until he
settled in a bit. He went to the groomer on Saturday, and has
also seen
our vet. They both love him.
It's so sad to think that Gorden's previous owners were unable
to keep
him and planned to have him put down! We are really grateful to
Gorden's vet for talking them into relinquishing him, and to
them for
being willing to let him go. Gorden's vet was so generous in
giving him
the medical care he needed - he is doing very well now, with
only one
small (and inexpensive) pill per day for a heart murmer.
It's clear to tell that Gorden was a much loved dog when he was
with
his "first family" - someone taught him to sit up and beg. It
is so
funny to watch him "wipe his paws" on the sun porch rug before
he comes
into the house!
Cathie, thank you again for all of the joy that you have brought
into
our lives!

Pogo now
TeddyBear

Hi
Cathie, Well it took a while for my little Bella to warm up to
Teddy Bear, but things are just fine now. Chilli is leaving at
the end of the month, and I know he will miss her, because she
plays a lot with him. She is moving to New Jersey with her Daddy
Nick, as he has a job there as a meteorologist. I know that this
will allow Bella and Little Man to become best buds. I can't
tell you how much I love this little guy. He is just full of
himself, but is still so moving and affectionate. I can't
imagine life without him now. He potty trained very quickly. He
now deliberately goes potty, even just a sprinkle, so that he
can get his cheerio for being a good little man. He is very
smart, and already will sit, go up, knows time to eat, cookie,
come, want to go outside, and will even potty on command! This
past weekend he got to meet my daughter Nicole (who lives in
NYC) and she totally fell in love with him. She wanted to steal
him, but I said NO WAY, he Mommy's little boy (LOL). I can't
thank you enough for letting me adopt him. He is really loved by
everyone.
Fellow Yorkie Lover,
Judy Borelli
Hi
Cathie, it's me, Pogo. They seem to call me Teddy Bear these
days, and I do like it! I just wanted to let you know that I am
SOOOOO happy with my new family. At first I wasn't sure if my
older sister, Bella, was going to like me, but she sure has
warmed up to me now. We get to go to all kinds of places. She
even lets me ride along in her carrier with her. Mom is happy
that Bella and I are both little, because we fit into a single
carrier! Mommy always warms my blanket in the dryer before I go
to bed. I sleep in a little kennel, right next to her, so I
won't fall off the bed. Mommy says I snore a lot. Although,
sometimes she lets me cuddle with her until she shuts off the
TV. I really like that part of the night! When I wake up is most
certainly one of the best times of the day. Not only do I get a
good long drink, but I get a nice breakfast that I eat in about
2 seconds flat! Mom calls me a little piglet. I can't wait to
see you guys in the spring. I miss you, and will never forget
what you did for me. I will always love you.
Happy in Barre,
Love Teddy Bear

Linc
now Hansome
& Snowball now Murray
Hi Kerri,
Hansome Linc and Murray (Snowball)
are doing great. Each day that goes by they are learning new
things and becoming more and more comfortable in their new
surroundings. I take them outside a lot, either in the car or
walking on the leash. They are becoming acclimated to all the
loud noises aro und
the neighborhood and with meeting new people and dogs.
The dogwalker is still learning to
get to know them, and them her. Still haven't quite mastered
complete housetraining as yet, but its a work in progress.
I still call Linc by name, but
other times end up calling him Hansome (short for handsome)
instead when we are alone. He's just such a handsome boy, I
can't help it.
Murray doesn't look like a Murray,
but I got tired of trying out different names and settled on
that one. I always liked the name from that show, Mad About
You. Now I'm used to it and he looks at me when I say it.
Although neither one of them come when called.......only when
they want to : ) Murray is the protector of the house
(usually when he is scared of something). He barks at the
boats going by or if he sees someone at a distance. But he's
better outside on
walks and stays quiet as long as we
keep moving. Linc rarely barks which is fine by me. If I pat
and talk softly to Murray he'll settle down. He is like a
little nervous teenager. Thinks he's brave when he's not.
He's sitting on my lap right now while I write this.
They are eating better now, but still
don't drink much water. It's funny when we walk, Murray marks
his territory all the time, and Linc just wants to keep
walking. He only pees when he needs to, whereas Murray wants
everyone to know where he's been. We just got back from walking all
around 2nd cliff (Peggotty Beach) and back. The waves are
still huge and people are surfing in the water. They didn't
like the storm yesterday and were scared of the wind. But we
got thru it and today is beautiful. Hope all is well with you. Were you
able to find out their exact birthdays yet? I'd just really
like to know for sure. Thanks.

Pixie
now
Pochade
Dear Cathie and John,
All is well for us
here in Newport. Pixie has
been doing great with her potty training. Hasn't pooped
inside yet. I take her for long walks and she is
doing so well. Of course everyone and their mother
wants to pet her
and pick her up. Permission has not been granted on the pick
up part. She has developed this sassy little walk and just
steals everyone's heart including mine. I will take some
pictures this weekend and forward
them on to you. right now she is asleep on the couch
next to me. I think the only time we have been apart is when
I am in the shower. I just love this little girl. I have also been taking care of a
mini poodle. I know you were concerned about her being around larger dogs. But Cattie is a
very gentle well mannered older dog. Her owner has been very
ill and she is camping out with us for awhile. Hope you are filling the void Pixie
has left and your floors look spectacular.
Dear Cathie and John,
I know you are wondering about me.
Just thought I would write and tell you I am just fine. My
new mom is spoiling me to death. She thinks pink is my
favorite color. Well it is.
Today she washe d
her bed linens and put me in the dryer warm basket. Oh was
that comfy. I was asleep in seconds.
I am a huge hit in the neighborhood
even though I am such a little peanut.
I didn't want you to worry about
me. I do miss you, but it sure is great being princess of
this 300 year old colonial home. Here is my latest picture
straight from the laundry.
Love and Kisses

"Pochade" is a French word
that roughly translates: pocket painting.
Traditionally, pochades were painted on the lids of
cigar boxes and the like. I consider anything a
pochade if it was created in one sitting, and is of
small scale.

Toby
Dear Yorkies
Inc,
We would like to thank you. Toby is a
wonderful addition to our family. Toby loves going for walks and
running around the yard. He loves to be with us, and we LOVE
having him. Toby sleeps with mom and dad every night, but
usually lays in bed with Alexa and Anna until mom goes to bed.
Thanks again,

Kadee
Hi Cathie

We just want to thank you so much for
bringing Kadee into our lives and home. She is the best dog I
could ever imagine. I still can't believe how great Kadee is
with Cloee! She is really a love! I believe it was meant to
be. Thank You for all you do, all your help with advice and
hints and help to this ignorant 1st time dog keeper, and for
Yorkies Inc. Thank you too for having faith in us, to provide
Kadee with a good, happy, safe home.
I am attaching the photo we just took
of ourselves.

DeDe & Joppa
now
Joeyhi,cathie,
the babies are just wonderful..they love the yard, they race
around
like crazy.....joppa,aka joey, aka pepe (because he looks like
a little
skunk) is a wild p uppy..i
think dede is somewhat overwhelmed with him, as he
is constantly at her, chasing, playing, nipping at her with
those sharp puppy
teeth.....she has had to show him who's boss a few times...he
wants her food, she wants his...
i have added some chicken soup dry dog food to his food, as he
started to loose
interest...also, with the combination, he seems to be peeing
less often, a
more normal number of times. but, i truly forgot what it was
like to train a puppy!!!!!! oh, my! i think
he needs military school. dede is a joy, she is so sweet and
lovable...she gives all kinds of
kisses....he does too...
we are a little tired, but very happy....and i think the dogs
are also. thank you so much, i am so glad that you chose us.
take care, hope all are well at your house.
deb & janet
Update 1/2/2008: Hi Cathie, Just a note to let you
know the kids are fine...dede, also known as deedles, is
absolutely wonderful.......she is more and more affectionate
and playful by the day...she also has a great deal of
patience with joey, as he is a typical younger brother,
taking her toys way, always wanting to play...she still gets
nervous when in the car, or around strangers, but getting
better.... joey is still a work in
progress...he is a sweetie (especially when sleeping), but
still thinks he's in charge..we have a few items we are
working on with him...we keep up with your web site, and
appreciate all you take on with these little ones...take care, and have a happy new year,

Roland is doing good. He follows me every where I go!! He's so
cute the way he stands on his hind legs and wiggles his front
paws. Maggie's been pretty good even when Roland has stuck his
nose in her food or tried to take her cookie. The only time
she gets upset is if I'm playing too much with him or when I
come home and they both run to me- Maggie doesn't like the
divided attention...I love Roland-He's a doll-sweet and a
little toughy at the same time. He's getting is s titches
out the week and he's going to the groomer for a more
manageable hair do. He hates the tub!! I washed his head and
he went crazy while he was standing in the tub-I never knew
such a little dog could be such a strong adversary!! Good Luck
to the groomers! I corded Rolands food through the Internet
and then this weekend I found a store up the street from our
place on the Cape-so I bought a few cans of the Merricks Pot
Pie until my order is delivered. Do you know if he has
Frontline Tick medicine on already? or should I put some on
him?I really think he's going to be a good fit-he respects
Maggie when she tells him to buzz off but doesn't cower from
her-it's a healthy reaction. We all just got back from the
Cape today and we are going back on Wednesday night until next
week-still trying to train him he's not going on the pee pads
I put on the floor he's walking really well on the leash
following Maggies lead and he's pooped outside once and I made
a big deal about it but he didn't seem too moved by the
experience-I make a big deal out of Maggies poop and pee
hoping he'll get the message but I think he's so fascinated by
the outdoors that he's not making the connection yet. At first
he was afraid of everything cars trucks but he's come so far
in a little less than a wee that I feel good about his
progress. He was great in the car-at first he shook for 10 mins.
then he relaxed and even feel asleep during the hour and a
half ride-he's better than maggie in the car. I'm hoping all
the training will click as soon as he feels safe which I know
could take awhile. AC in Dorchester but not on the Cape and
these last few nites were humid!! Hopefully the sun will make
an appearance soonn-Roland will probably be going to the beach
for the first time Thursday or Saturday-I hope he gets easier
to bathe-I think he thought I was trying to drowned him-it was
like he was fighting for his life. He's warmed up to Pat a
little more but Pats had to work and I've been around a lot
more. Pat wants Roland to love him so badly! I told him it'll
just take time. Have a great week and thanks for all your
help. Kellie

Logan

WinstonHi Kerrianne,
I would just like to update you on Mr. Winston. He is
adapting very well to his new home and to Maggi e.
Maggie is giving him the cold shoulder from time to time. He
likes to go out in the yard and run around. He has stopped
wearing the belly band since Saturday AM. He goes outside and
on the piddle pad. He is a very good boy so far. He has only
pooped, not urinated on the rug twice. I think he will be
easy to house train. He follows me around everywhere. We
crate him at night (for now) and he is fine, as long as he can
see "me". We tried putting him in the crate in my daughter's
room and he wasn't too happy. We let him on the bed this
morning for a few hours this AM and he did fine, Maggie was a
little offended because that is her territory (oh well). He
wouldn't eat his food after he saw what Maggie was eating, so
we are alternating, but he seems to like the rice/chicken and
hamburger mix. I will keep you posted. How is his brother
doing, has he been adopted yet? Thanks again Deborah

Adam
Good Morning Cathie,
Adam and Sasha are such good friends. They love to run in
and out of the house Jumping and playing. There are so
many cute moments I don't know where to begin. I am truly
blessed to have the both of them. Adam and Sasha for the
most part, a poo poo once and a while, have mastered house
training YAHOOOO.. Bedtime is so cute they both have to have
there teeth and hair brushed and if needed eye boogers
cleaned which neither is to thrilled. Then they both curl up
under my arm and between Erik and I ... off to sleep.Erik an d
Adam have really bonded, so he thinks, secretly he is my
boy. Erik calls every day to see how the kids are doing..I
love it when he asks this question. We have taken many
pictures and I will have to go have the picture card burned
to disk so I can send them as I haven't mastered the art
from my computer. Let me know when you want to come visit. I
hope you know that you and your husband are always welcome
to stop in and visit. Give me a call when your ready to come
as my computer is on the fritz and I will be without is for
the next 3-5 days. Do you j I was complaining that my back
hurt? Well I herniated a disc in my back and will be out of
work for the next 4 weeks boo hoo. This injury couldn't have
come at a better time. Happy Happy Happy I can stay home and
play with my babies. Please give me a call when ever you
wish. We look forward to seeing you.
Good Morning Mommy,
My forever mom, dad and sister have
been keeping me real busy. I love the long walks in the
morning, running so fast around the yard that my sister can't
catch me (I think I am an antelope), and
snuggling with everyone at night. I really really love my
forever home and family they make me
feel loved and special. Mom wants me to tell you how grateful
she is that you brought us together because I bring so much
joy and happiness to the family's life. Mommy, I know that you
miss me dearly but, please know that the greatest gift you
gave to me was placing me in my forever home. I will always
love you for all the goodness you shared with me and for
providing me with a second chance at a great life and I mean
great life. Mom attached some pictures, she takes to many,
because I am so photogenic. The picture with me snuggled into
mom's bathrobe is one of my favorites. I love moms red
bathrobe so much that I have claimed it for my own. I have
also claimed Daddy's lap for my own because us guys have to
stick together. But, secretly mom's number one. Well, I gotta go because we are going for a hike.

Mystic Rose
Hi Cathie
Thought you would like to know that Margaret and Rose adore
one another and Rose looks great - she is really getting used
to being around people and is completely
housetrained. She went to the groomers today for the first
time - Margaret didn't want to rush her. Then she dropped by
my house for a "photo shoot" so we could send you some
pictures.
Hi Kerri
Margaret and Rose are doing great. Rose has become a real
dog - loves the outdoors, trying to catch squirrels, birds,
etc. She gets a walk on the beach every morning and spent a
week on Margaret's island this summer. She has become a bit
more
outgoing, but is devoted mostly to Margaret, which is great.
Thanks again for a great match - Rose has Margaret wrapped
around her little paw!
Thanks again.

DivotHello,
Just wanted to give you an update of our day... We had an
wonderful afternoon where Divot met friends and family. He
truly impressed everyone and was just so sweet and loving. He
and our youngest granddaughter, Brianna, and our next door
neighbor, Dougals, have become inseparable. They both want to
trade their dogs dogs for Divot!
We went for a nice long walk around the neighborhood, so
Divot could see and be seen. Then we went on a little
excursion to Pet Smart to pick up a couple little things. He
got just a little stressed out so Garry bought him outside
immediately and he was fine. Two of the three cats are doing
very well with him and one watches him from
the stairs. She is the one one that we thought would hide for
at least a week. But one sits with him on the couch to watch
TV and has shared a dish of food. It seems as if they are all
adjusting ve ry
well. He loves the camera, and our granddaughter is thrilled
that she will have pictures to take to school of with herself
and her new "niece". Just one quick question regarding bowel
habits, is this usually once a day or twice????? We just
waited to make sure he stays "regular". It is so cute that way
he barks at his reflection in the glass of the doors of the
sliders. He has adopted one side of the couch and has brought
his toys, including the cat toys they accumulated for him next
to his bed! Thank you so much for the wonderful little man
that you brought to us! He is such a
delight!!!!
Thank you, that is so nice! I wanted to give you an update on
how well he is doing! He has not had a single mistake and is
socializing beautifully with everyone he meets. He is a
little tentative with the other dogs, but they are all so much
bigger than he is! He was funny with seeing the Mastiff
through the fence, he stood his ground and told Buddy quite a
story! He is getting along well with the cats. They
are getting used to him as well. It has been two years since
we had a dog in the house, so I don't know how much they
remember. He loves Douglas, our next door neighbor. We
just came in from playing in the back yard with him. Douglas
gets down and rolls around in the grass with him and Divot
jumps over him. It looks as if he is on springs! He even
occupies himself by throwing his stuffed animals up in the air
and tries to catch them. The more you laugh watching him, the
longer he does it, He and Garry are having some nice long
walks (2 miles) and I think the "big guy" wears out before the
little guy! He has been to Garry's office and met everyone
there. I could only take the "proud parent" pictures, but
everyone I work with loves him! I will definitely send
pictures to you for the website! I will keep you posted and we
will definitely get together soon, so you can see him.
HI Kerri,
I know, I do not know where the summer has gone. Lost
somewhere in a blur...
Time goes by too quickly! Divot is doing so well. What a
little love he is! We are having so much fun with him. He is
very affectionate and such a snuggler! He is still a little
leary of new people and still barks at them until he is
comfortable, but we are all a work in progress and trying to
re-assure him the best that we can to make him more
comfortable.
He cuddles up between us every evening to watch TV. If we
take too long in the kitchen cleaning up after dinner, he
barks and runs to the living room as if to say hurry up, it is
time to come and sit! He loves to come with us running
errands, or just out for a ride.
Sunday is his Birthday, so we are planning a little family
party for him and next week his groomer is having a Halloween
party for the "friends" that go for grooming and occasional
play dates. I still have to learn how to scan pictures to
e-mail and as soon as I do, I will send pictures to you. It
has been so wonderful having him come into our lives! Thank
you so much for giving up the opportunity!
Regards,
Susan

Caleigh
Hi Cathie,
Sorry it has taken
so
long to email you. It seems like I never get a turn to use
the computer at home!!!!! Eddie was not happy that I hadn't
emailed you yet. Caleigh is just such a sweetheart! She is so
cuddly and sweet. I can't imagine not having her as part of
our family. It took about a week for her to warm up to Frank
but they are best buds now! She gets very excited when he
comes home from work. Sometimes she gets so excited, she
piddles a bit. She started out sleeping in her bed right next
to ours but each night she would wake up and go over to
Frank's side and he would lift her up into our bed. Now, she
just goes to bed with us and cuddles up between us. She is
such a love!
Yesterday was her first trip to
the beach! We had so much fun! She met so many four legged
friends! We will have to get together with your dogs and
have a play date. I'm not real good at downloading pictures
so I'll have to wait for one of the kids to help me with it.

Princess
Hi Cathie,
I just wanted to give you an update about Princess. She has
been doing very well adjusting to us (and vice versa). The
first few hours, I am pretty sure she was checking to see if
you were coming back. We took her out often, gave her time to
investigate all around the house, gave her treats and carrot,
cheerios... Consequently, with all the new changes, she didn't
seem to want her supper. Understandable though. After awhile,
we set up her little bed with the snuggly and she took a nice
nap. We went out and bought her a crate which she likes too.
Her bed is in the family room where we spend alot of time, and
the crate is in the kitchen, another place we always seem to
be. So she has a choice where she wants ro rest but can still
be where we are too. This AM she barked a little at Jim, but
hasn't b arked
since then. I think she was just happy to see someone. She did
eat her breakfast, went out in the yard. Haven't had any
accidents or even used the pad. She is very calm and loving.
She loves the attention (move over Emily) and will curl up on
a pillow if we are sitting on the floor. We are are working on
"sit." I am sure it won't take long. I will be getting in
touch with the Vet this week to get her paw pads groomed. She
has already been the topic in one of the children's story for
church! OH! She finally noticed the bunny and has actually
gotten to smell her nose to nose. Still no barking! I will let
you know how this develops... Anyway, she has already given
us a lot of joy. We hope to give her everything she needs and
then some. Just know that she is already loved and a part of
the family. Thank you for all that you have done to keep her
healthy and happy. It is a difficult job that you do, but only
a person with a lot of compassion and love can do it. Best of
luck to you and all little yorkies in need of homes. We will
keep in touch.

Drew
Hi Kerri,

Drew is still on my lap. We thought it would take days or a
week. You left and it was no time he fit right in. He likes
to sleep touching my back or shoulder. He will not move. I
move him a little and he goes right back. Friday we went to
get the sticker for my car. They loved him. I gave that man
the e-mail address. My grandson was finishing the last 2
baseball games and his father had the coach game. Of course
my Drew was at all of them and boy does he get attention. I
am so in love I can't tell you. Well I really can't thank
you enough for Drew. He is wonderful and I love to spoil
him. Even my husband is in love. If you are ever in the area
come by to see us. Drew's forever family

Likewise, we enjoyed meeting you and Joan. We will enjoy
keeping in touch and bringing Mia to see you from time to
time. We are love drunk here!!!! Mia is simply precious
beyond words. She is such a good girl that I cannot imagine
anyone giving her up -- unless they knew how terrific she is
and felt badly about not spending enough time with her. She
has an energy level that seems to fit us really well. Last
night she whined for about 10 minutes after we went to bed
and again for about 10 minutes in the middle of the night.
I had quiet mu sic
on for her so don't know if that helped to sooth her. She
has been really good about using paper and going outside to
relieve herself.. She has a delightful personality. We are
feeling very, very lucky.
Thank you for sending the gardening websites. I love to
garden, but do not like to spend a fortune doing so. Rylee
enjoys gardening as well, and is a huge help to me. Kevin
is all boy!!! He is a good boy who loves a good time, is
curious, likes to experiment, and struggles with the balance
between being what boys (and men) expect of each other and
being sensitive. We had to go out for a bit today and could
not bring Mia. His brow was furrowed and he looked like he
lost his last friend. I asked him what was wrong and he
said he was worried that she would be lonely and was eager
to get back home to her. We have attached a photo of the
kids with Mia.
Thank you for everything. I will see you
when the food you ordered for me arrives. Catherine

Emma
Hello Cathie,
Emma is
doing great, still a little timid, but improving bit by bit.
Today, up here in the North Country, it was absolutely
gorgeous. It was in the 70’s…hard to believe that this past
Monday was a Northeaster!!! My husband and I took a moment to
enjoy the weather, and so didn’t the girls. I have attached a
photo of Emma and Moxie, with me. I will not be able to make
the gathering, this time around. We had a lot of damage to
our home and property…so we are concentrating on getting
things back in order. I wanted to meet you and all the other
Yorkie people and their Yorkies, but this has to come first.
Hope you are
enjoying the weekend.
UPDATE:
How are
you? How did the Yorkie gathering go? Great, I hope. Wish
I could have been
there. Next year, I hope J We are all doing fine! Still
cleaning up the mess, after the storm, but gaining on it.
Branches are everywhere. I am actually picking them up by
hand and not raking them, because there are just too many of
them. Emma is doing great. We just love her. I have never
seen a dog wag their tai l as much as Emmy. She wags it so
much I think she is going to lift off the ground like a
helicopter…we just adore her! She comes to me now, and I
have her
walking beside me, off leash in the yard! She is
amazing. She is getting better on her little accidents in
the house, too. You were right…she does think my scatter
rugs are big pee pee pads! Like I said, she is getting
better on that home front though and we are happy about
that. check your website periodically, and I happened to
notice Tira on it this morning. If you can’t find the
perfect home for her, I would be interested in adopting
her. Moxie and Emmy are doing great together, and I know
one more wouldn’t be a problem. Keep me in mind for Tira,
if you do not have any luck finding her a home.
Take care, Bobbie

Maddie
Cathie,
Maddie is an absol ute joy, she is fitting in well, cannot
believe it has been a week already, it seems like she has
been with us forever. She loves roaming our yard and climbing, chasing the ducks, birds, cats etc... She is
fascinated by the squirrels in the yard, she lays on my
mom's bed and jumps down runs into the office and jumps up
on my chair to look at the squirrels at the bird feeders
barking her little head off... she is comfortable here. I
could picture her any other place but my home. My mom is so
happy that Maddie adopted her! I tried to take some pictures
with my husbands camera but they were too dark, will try
again, she went to the groomer with Mandy yesterday and is
prim and she knows it! I will keep in touch, did not
want to bother you too much,
Thanks again,
Joanne
Hello Cathy,
It has been awhile since I have chatted and I figured I
would give you an update on our little friend Maddie. She
is adapting better each day, she and Mandy now play on a
regular basis and it is split between them on who
initiates the play, Samantha the lab even gets in on the
play. Maddie has turned out to be my dog, I have to watch
where I put my feet because is generally right under where
ever I am sitting. When I am in the kitchen she is
right there besides me, but at night she likes to sleep up
against my husband or on top of our pillows between us. We
haven't had any more incidents of what I call her evil
eye, but when she looks like that I just talk to her and
she is fine.
Maddie is such a joy, we enjoy watching her puppy antics,
and she has turned out to be quite the little hunter. If
you ever get up this way you will have to stop by and see
how well she has become a NH pup.

Curly
now
Pau
Hi
Kerri, We
had a great weekend. My problem with naming is I asked
too many people their opinion. Also every time I saw
something new in his personality, I thought of another
possibility. Whooo, mental over drive.
The
little guy is sleeping on my lap right now as I type. I'm
going with the first name I liked, Pau . It is the
Catalan name for Paul and also the Catalan work for
"peace". Everyone is telling me pet names evolve, so not
to worry so much about the name, name. But at least his
actual name will have a nice meaning. Pau is pronounced
like "paw".
He is
loving toys!!! But not loving outside yet. I don't
think he knows what to make of outside. He seems to be
happy once he is on the walk, but he never wants to go out
the door. The walk seems to help get some bathroom
action outside.
He's so
well behaved and cute. He loves sleeping on a lap or
curled up next to you, he is very loving. Sunday he
started allowing us to rub his belly while he was on his
back. Before that he didn't like being in that position.
He's eating more food everyday, but doesn't touch the Wee
Bits. I guess the flavor isn't his favorite. We are
hoping to see some weight gain soon.
Ingrid
and Pau
Update4/7/07:
He’s been so well behaved. The only time he’s been kinda
confined, is at night when we sleep, we close the bedroom
door. I’m worried he’ll fall down the stairs, so we keep
the door closed. He’ll walk around the bed a couple of
times, looking for someone to play with, but once he
realizes everyone is down for the night he curls up on his
bed and goes to sleep. No barking, scratching or
anything. I’m so luck he is so darn good!

Toby
Hi Cathie!
I don't know if you remember, but March 8th was my birthday!
Mommy bought
me a happy birthday hat and bandanna and made me wear them for
pictures!! I know it doesn't sound like much fun, but I didn't
mind a bit. I am sitting on the couch in the living room between
my two sisters. We get along great! It is fun having other
furbabies to play with even though they are girls. I think that
they liked my birthday toys even better than I did! I am very
happy here. Thanks for finding my forever home! Even though I
am nine, I still have lots and lots of years left to play!
Love, Toby |
Tara
Cathie: Tara is
do ing
just fine. We had the dog reunion yesterday with Tara and
Dixie. How cute to see the first reaction. Tara
immediately knew Dixie and Dixie took a few minutes, but boy
when she realized who it was she kissed and kissed her.
Dixie was so happy.
Tara is
doing great. Today she actually stood at my door to let me
know she needed to go out. Funny how she eats and goes out
right away just like Dixie - they are so well trained. I
did find the bag of food at Family Pet and Garden Center.
Tara does seem to eat a bit slower since I feed her alone in
a room by herself. We all love her (even my husband called
me from work to see how she's doing). Pictures to follow
very soon.

Pictured above Tara w/ Dixie, they are mother and
daughter....Tara, the mother was adopted by Caroline who is
Peggy's daughter. Peggy adopted Dixie see below!

Dixie
Dixie
is a "dream come true." She is as cute as a button and sweet
as can be. She loves her new home. I am spoiling her rotten
and enjoying every minute of it. There are so many cute
sweaters and coats for dogs. Dixie was well trained when I
received her and she is smart enough to give me a signal
when she needs to go out. She loves to play fetch and this is
winter - wait until summer! My daughter brings her dog over
and walks the two of them Dixie loves the company. She is
great with people, children and other dogs. She loves to be
picked up and sits on my lap at any chance she gets. I
am very happy with Dixie the match was perfect. Thank you for
everything.

SHELBY
Hi Kerri,
She was not a
happy camper to go out during the storm. I had to carry her
down the stairs and wait with her while she did her business.
I was so glad that I had bought her a warm coat and a
raincoat. You know how territorial she is over her bed, well
she has become territoria l
over her corner of the sofa as well as the bed. She also
thinks she owns the neighborhood as well as her own space
outside. My neighbor, directly in back of me, came out of his
door and she went crazy barking and showing her teeth. I told
him to come over and as soon as she knew he was not a threat
she would shower him with kisses. He looked a little
apprehensive but came over anyway and, of course, Shelby put
on her charm. She now has another person who is in love with
her.
She is here
sitting on my lap while I am composing this email. She has
been doing walking exercise with me in the house. She keeps
up for about 5 laps around the house then jumps up on the sofa
and watches me as I continue. It appears to me that she is
thinking "are you crazy". I keep her moving as much as
possible. She sure is laid back. Wait until the weather
breaks and she finds out what I have in store for her. I am
sure she will do fine.
Kerri, I am so
happy to have her as my pet and love her with all my heart.
Thank you for bringing her to me. Talk to you soon.
Joan Almeida
Shelby was
first adopted through Craigslist and was not a suitable match
for her adoptive home. they then surrendered her to Yorkies
Inc so we could find that perfect match.

RUBY
1/20/2007: Hi Kerri,
Ruby had 2 great nights. She slept with Sophie in the doggie
bed together and not a peep out of either one until about
5:15am. They heard my alarm go off so they start to yip just
a little. She's using the pe e
pad and the rug. Good and not so good, we keep taking her
out with Sophie. She'll get it. Ruby has also conquered the
stairs. Partly because she doesn't like the cold and worked
it out, how do I get inside? Hmmm, up the stairs! She is a
love, we all adore her. Frank and Rachel think she is so
sweet. She is a contrast to Sophie. All is not a love fest
with Sophie, she's jealous. When she behaves badly we scoop
her up with a NO and put her in the kennel until she yips
and then we take her out. Sophie will catch on to her bad
behavior and stop. Ruby shies away until Sophie calms down.
They a sniffing at each other. They will figure it out. WE
all can't imagine life without Ruby. Thank you again. We
will keep in touch. I think I've been bitten by the Yorkie
bug!
Valerie
2/9/2007: Hi Kerri,
It's so great to see them together. Sophie can be aloof,
but Ruby goes right up to her and starts to play. Sophie
can't help herself and she starts right in. They are
getting along just fine. We are so in love with Ruby. We
took a road trip last week to Ohio, Ruby was a little
trooper, 10 hours in a car one way. Every rest stop she
got out of the car in the cold and peed' immediately. We
had a few accidents but were prepared. She loved my
daughters kids and they loved her. We stayed at a
Residence Inn, pets invited. The staff loved both dogs.
I really adore her. Thanks for keeping in touch.

MADISON
It's our 1 week anniversary and yet it
seems like she's always been here. jim couldn't believe it's
been only a week either because she's so well adjusted! her
bow has been out for 2 days because they were playing so
roughly and her new ones haven't come yet. i'll get pix to
you- i'm going to get a new digital camera because my other
is huge and chews batteries. went out to take pix the
other
day and had to do 35mm because the batteries were already
dead. i replaced 2 weeks prior and hadn't even used the camera
& it takes too much time to change 6. i'll have the other
handy and can get better pix. she is soooo easy- and sweet
and loving. she is the "toy" girls and gets them going with
the toys. she also sleeps with at least 2 in her bed! see, if
i had the camera yesterday you'd have a cute shot of them
playing tug of war with the rope fish you sent. all 3 were
playing today- i'm thrilled to see them play. how's henry
doing? we're so pulling for the little bug and hope the egg
whites are going well. murphy started throwing up the cal
nat so we're thinking of putting him on the wee bits too.
slowly but he already snags a fair share. the biljac was
getting him fat and not staying with him long enough. we'll
see how this goes but since the girls are all doing so well he
may have better luck on it. I've not been happy with cal nat
since they opened their own factory- less regulation. lee and
cadie stopped eating it (that is after lee got sick and i
found out why). i think their extrusion process fills it full
of air- makes it more profitable!
i'll get pics to you- she is soo pretty but looks pretty messy
today after playing for 2 days. she's so house trained too-
we're amazed! Thank you again for letting us adopt her!

Solange now Sasha
Good
evening Cathie,
I can't
thank you enough for my sweet furbaby. Solange and I have
had a whirlwind of a day. First we had her welcome home
party where she met Her new daddy, neighbors, sister
and grandpa. It took about 10 seconds for Solange to claim
her space, which is everywhere, in the house. After our
party we took a ride to the vet to meet the staff and Dr.
Grochect. I bet I don't have to tell you who the new
supersta r of salmon brook vet is. SOLANGE!!!. Dr. Grochect
fell in love with me immediately I think it was because I
gave him a kiss. When we finished at the vet, we took a ride
to horses and hounds where mommy picked up my food, a
exercise pen and I picked out a new pink bed. Our fun didn't
stop there. Mommy had to go to her doctor and pick up her
prescription so, I tagged along and stole the limelight.
After that, mommy took me to the store to buy some new
clothes. I got a UCONN Huskeys sweater I don't know who they
are but mom says I will be a big hit with the boys if I wear
it. I guess I'll have to take her word for that. Mom did
insist that I pick up a few fashion clothes. Oh boy did we
have fun. I got a princess dress, a rain coat, a sweater
that has tassels, a sunshine tshirt, a red sweat shirt and a
fashion coat. I am not sure what I am going to wear for our
play date on the 29th. I guess I will have to look through
my wardrobe and decide. Well I am so tired and I have a play
date tomorrow with Colby who bought me lots of PRESENTS so I
have to go to sleep. I think mom is a little tired
too. Thank you mommy for introducing me to my new mommy
Barbara. I will forever be grateful.
Love
Solange and Mom
Update
3/31/07: Good morning
Cathie,
I thought I would let you know that Daddy wanted to
change my name to Sasha and I answer to it happily. I
also wanted to tell you that I didn't have any
accidents yesterday and I slept through the night till
6:15 am. I am so happy at my forever home. Mom and I are
going to interview my new trainer, that is of course if
I like him. Mom and I were looking at the Yorkie Shoppe
and I liked the Tropical plaid snugglie set. Would you
mind sending me one? Mom is sending a check with my
picture today. Happy trails.
Best regards
Sasha and Barbara
UPDATE 4/21/07:
Hi foster mommy. Finally mommy was able to transfer the
pictures from her camera to the computer. Mommy has
taken so many pictures of me which made it difficult to
decide on which ones to send. So, I decided to send 3
pictures for now, 2 mommy and me pictures and 1 of my
crib. I love my house so much and I explore every inch
of it, inside and out, daily. I love to chase mommy
around the house and sometimes I trick her by hiding
behind the door and then jumping out from behind
it while standing on my back feet. Mommy thinks this is
really funny so, she encourages this kind of play. When
we are not playing in the house mommy and I take long
walks by the Farmington River, Hike in the woods and go
to the park. Last weekend Mommy and I went for a 5 mile
hike at Valley Falls. Mommy was so proud of me because I
hiked for 4 miles. I would have walked the last mile but
there were 4 big dogs who scared me so mommy gave me a
ride. I would love to say that mommy and I play all day
every day but, once a week I have to go to school and
then practice what I learn. Some times school is
hard because I can be stubborn and I don't want to pay
attention. Mommy always assures me that paying attention
will payoff. This week I was practicing walking on a
leash and learning to sit. I breezed through walking on
a leash but, I don't like to sit. Matt, my trainer, told
me not to worry about doing this perfectly for
now. Tomorrow Daddy, Mommy and me are going to McLean's
Game refuge for a hike. I can't wait because mommy says
there is a duck pond and I love to bark at them. Well, I
gotta go because I need to get ready for bed. I love you
and can't wait to see everybody at the play-date.
Sasha and Mommy
Hi Cathie,
It has been far to long since I have written to
you. Adam, Sasha, Erik and I are doing well. Words
cant express how truly grateful we are to have a
complete family with the addition of Adam
 and
of course Sasha. Adam has Finlay come into his own and
asserts himself regularly. One of my favorite times
with Adam and Sasha is bedtime. They both jump on me
and cover me with kisses, paw at my face and then
we snuggle together till we fall asleep. Please keep
in touch.
PS I will send you pictures of the kids in their
Halloween costumes.
Best Regards, Barbara, Erik and the kids
