 Now A Forever Foster

Bandit

Male

Age:  6 (posted 4/11/26)

Weight:   10 lbs

Bandit is a 6 year old male Yorkie who weighs 10 lbs. He is a friendly little guy who likes to cuddle and spend time with you. He tends to follow you all around the house and just loves being near. He can be shy at first but opens up pretty fast. He gets excited about everything! If you take a nap you could easily find him lying your pillow with you or curled under the bed waiting for you to get up. He is never far away. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He may be standoffish at first but then warms up. He is housetrained but will need reinforcement in his new home to learn a new routine. He enjoys going for walks and is use to having a fenced yard to go out in to potty in.

UPDATE 5/17/26

Please keep Bandit in your thoughts and consider making a donation to his very unexpected vetting care. Bandit finally came into Yorkies Inc on Saturday. Bandit went into a foster to adopt home the same day. On Tuesday night they noticed he was coughing and as the night went on his coughing became worse and his breathing became labored in the morning. They immediately brought him into their vet where he was diagnosed with a grade 5 heart murmur with fluid around his heart and in his lungs. He was then transferred to a local ER  where he was immediately put in an oxygen tank and medications started.  Once stabilized enough to safely move him we transferred him to Tufts, where he went back into oxygen till he could have an echocardiogram. The echo showed that Bandit has a leak at one of his heart valves, the mitral valve,  which has caused an enlargement with his heart causing fluid to back up into the lungs causing pulmonary edema, known as congestive heart failure. Bandit will need to be on a few medications to help manage this. So far he seems to be responding well to the medications and he should he able to hopefully go home soon. While there isn’t a cure for this disease we are hopeful it can be managed with medications so Bandit can go home to his foster home where he is greatly missed💕 Please consider donating to his vetting care as his vet bill is already over $3000.
