This adorable little JJ goober is the whole puppy package! JJ is loving, smart, playful, mischievous, athletic, adventurous, curious, and absolutely adorable! He weighs around 8 lbs, is 11 months old, and absolutely ready for a forever home after a busy beginning. JJ has a long list of things he loves:  leash walks, chasing toys, playing with any and every dog he’s ever met, loving every human he’s ever met, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, his crate, his blankie, snuggles and kisses, being held, car rides, the ocean, and squeaky outdoor toys. JJ is a super smart and observant pup ~ he has already learned sit, drop it, leave it, trade, wait, and to come to his name. He quickly learns and then loves a household routine or schedule. JJ has outstanding dog manners, especially for a puppy. He adjusts his play to the personality of his playmate, to include younger very active pups, geriatric pups, blind pups, and pups of various sizes. He loves to say hi to people on leash walks and thoroughly enjoys trips to the trails or ocean. JJ is a good eater! JJ is also a great sleeper. He loves to go to bed and sleeps soundly through the night. He is flexible and sleeps either in his crate with his special blankie, or in bed with his foster. JJ is potty trained to pee outside or on pee pads. He is working on going poo outside, and making progress.

JJ is also special needs ~ as a young puppy he swallowed items and needed surgeries to remove them. In foster care we have learned that his GI system is sensitive to fiber such as that from chewing sticks, which also required surgery. JJ does best with prescription food. He needs to live in a clutter free home or with a family willing to utilize his x-pen or crate when small items of interest might be out and about and when he cannot be completely supervised. Although JJ is muzzle trained, he no longer needs it on leash walks, as he now enjoys all he smells on a walk. However, when not busy playing fetch, JJ is likely to try to chew on sticks or leaves in the yard, and he still needs his muzzle in this context. JJ happily plays with his foster siblings and explores the yard with his muzzle on. His forever family will need to be diligent about his environment and supervision, need to be willing to utilize his crate, x-pen, and muzzle in positive ways, and need to continue his training on safety instructions such as wait, drop it, and leave it.

If you are looking for a lovable, fun, adorable puppy and are able to supervise and

work with him through his puppy phase please submit an application.
